Progressive hardcore band Boy Sets Fire was formed in Delaware in 1994 by singer Nathan Gray, guitarists Joshua Latshaw and Chad Istvan, bassist Darrell Hyde and drummer Matt Krupanski. Self-releasing their debut single "Consider" in 1995, the group soon resurfaced with a split release with Jazz Man's Needle, winning acclaim not only for the intensity of their live dates but also the intensity of their political convictions. Boy Sets Fire's debut full-length The Day the Sun Went Out followed in 1997, with a split single with Snapcase preceding the 1999 release of In Chrysalis. Bassist Rob Avery replaced Hyde for 2000's After the Eulogy, the band's first release for new label Victory Records. This Crying, This Screaming, My Voice Is Being Born was released later that summer. Sucker Punch was issued in early 2001. The Live For Today EP marked the time between full length albums with four new tracks and two live recordings. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
Drug Church

Members of Self Defense Family/End of a Year on No Sleep Records.
Drug Church is the sound of "some college" and a delivery job. It's what happens when you strip any pretense from music and are left with a room full of dudes with weird bodies and tenuous futures.
Pulling liberally from Seaweed, Quicksand, and Kerosene 454, the band fully embraces its hardcore-dudes-trying-to-play-alt-rock influences.
No heavy trips about how you should live. No white-guy slam poetry about love. Just music you can pushpit and stagedive to so you can forget for a moment that you have eczema and work at Pizza Hut. ACTUAL punk music for ACTUAL disaffected weirdos.

I AM HERESY

What happens when your band falls apart and everything you worked toward is abruptly thrown away? You start a new one! That is exactly what Nathan Gray (Boysetsfire, Casting Out) decided to do once his last musical effort The Casting Out ceased to exist. Not one to sit around and cry about the situation, he decided to move forward and form something completely new. He didn't have to look far though, realizing that his son Simon Gray and fellow bandmate Jonah Latshaw (May 4th Massacre) both were very talented musicians in their own right, he recruited them to start a new band. Going back to the roots of what made Boysetsfire such a powerful force in the punk/hardcore scene, mixed in with the younger metal influence of Simon and Jonah..... I AM HERESY was formed. To help complete the band and take it to the next level, brothers Jay and Crumbs Konieko (The Dead and Gone) were added on Bass and Drums respectively. The last piece to the puzzle to help reinforce such an imposing sound was former (Chambers) guitarist Gregg Kautz. As a whole each band member brings their own unique musical style to form a wall of sound that has and will continue to grow and evolve. I AM HERESY.
