Asher Roth
Asher Roth
Asher Roth grew up in the suburbs of Morrisville, a small town roughly 10 miles northeast of Philadelphia. Born in 1988, he spent his time in school, rhyming and battling his friends for fun. In his 10th grade, he began rapping, writing songs and recording them in a friend's basement before selling them at school. After selling 250 copies in two days, Roth felt that a career in hip-hop was a possibility.

When he was in college, Asher opened an account on MySpace and posted some of his verses there. He even sent a "friend request" to Scooter Braun, an Atlanta-based promoter and former VP of Marketing for Jermaine Dupri's record label So So Def. One week after making friends with Scooter through the social network, he flew to Atlanta and was immediately signed by Scooter, who subsequently became his manager. Asher then decided leaving college and focused on his career as Hip-Hop artist. He dropped an indie album titled "Believe the Hype" in 2006.

Asher got into the mainstream rap scene after featured in DJ Drama-helmed mixtape "The Greenhouse Effect" in 2008. He then started making new music for his first major-label studio which hit the U.S. market on April 20, 2009.

Asher claimed his fame as "I Love College", the first single from the record soared to number 14 on Billboard Hot 100. An official remix for the song was recorded, featuring beatboxer Chesney Snow. Two other remixes were unofficial, having Chamillionaire, Lil Wayne and Jim Jones's vocals on the lines. Keri Hilson, Cee-Lo, Jazze Pha, Busta Rhymes and pop duo Chester French are among those signed to make a collaboration with Asher in the album.

Ground Up is a hip-hop trio that resides in Philadelphia. The group members include a producer that goes by Bij Lincs; whose eccentric style and uncanny musical talent is complimentary to the witty wordplay and thoughtful lyrics of the two MC’s, AZAR & MALAKAI. The combination of relentless work as well as a grass-roots marketing strategy has enabled the group to accumulate fans exponentially while simultaneously releasing quality music. Along the way, Ground Up has grown notorious for its live shows; touring at school such as WVU, Temple U, West Chester, UVA, Cornell, Cheyney U, Pittsburgh U, Lincoln U to name a few. Ground Up has also opened up for renowned artists such as Rick Ross, Chiddy Bang, The Nappy Roots, Meek Millz, Gucci Mane, and Chris Webby. With the help of their loyal fans, the strong team behind them, and the group’s ability to stay creative, it seems nothing will stop Bij Lincs, AZAR, or MALAKAI from making music their way – from the Ground Up.Support the Ground Up movement!
Jesse Marco
Jesse Marco
As a teenager, Jesse, heavily influenced by his parents' vast record collection, began to fuse rock, punk, soul, and funk with the hip-hop of his generation. "My parents musical tastes really shaped mine. My first cassette was Led Zeppelin and my second was Sam Cooke."

Soon, Jesse began deejaying prep school parties around Manhattan largely filling his crates with his parents' records. He laughs, "I was the only sixteen-year old deejay in the City playing Buddy Holly and Lauryn Hill." Downtown crowds, however, quickly gravitated to his eclectic sets and by the time the young deejay graduated from high school he was a staple behind the velvet ropes inside New York's most exclusive nightclubs.

Jesse's encyclopedic knowledge of music and remarkable skill have since taken him around the globe spinning private parties for celebrities including Heidi Klum, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, and Karolina Kurkova. Jesse has become a favorite of the fashion and art worlds playing high-profile events for Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan, Diesel, GQ, and Kaws. Of his choice to hire Jesse to deejay his Milan Fashion Week runway show, Tom Ford said Jesse's "musical taste reminds me of my childhood."

Between celebrity and corporate events, Jesse deejays at the most recognizable nightclubs in the world including Liv (Miami), Pure (Las Vegas), VIP Room (Paris), and Chinawhite (London). An emerging producer, Jesse has recently remixed tracks for Kings of Leon, Brandon Flowers, and Peter Bjorn and John.

Jesse has modeled for Marc Jacobs, Uniqlo, and Converse. He has been featured in Vanity Fair, GQ, W, Us Weekly, and The New York Post.
